You never thought your teenager would have this much fun dancing the foxtrott, waltz, rumba...
Yes, teens between the ages of 14-17 meet once a week to learn the classic moves of the Ballroom and Latin Dances.
Popular dances like Mambo, Salsa and Swing will get lots of special attention.
During the course of classes, your teen will learn:
Basic social dance steps and terminology,
basics of leading and following and a
basic understanding of moving around a dance floor.
The practice of good dance etiquette:
how to ask for, accept and/or decline a dance in proper fashion,
how to lead your partner to and from the floor,
and courtesy and safety for your partner while on the floor.
How to move to a variety of music from current Top Forty tunes to Latin Rythms.
But this course’s major objective is for the students to learn a variety of dance steps
they can use in many situations, and have a good time dancing.
The highlight of every course is the Sunday Dance,
the last sunday of the month we will meet from
4:00pm - 6:30pm
at the Levine Center in Matthews
$5.00 per person
students can bring friends socialize, show off and dance dance dance.
